Yo Rodger............for the good times
Hey Rodger, I gave it some thought; and I ain’t mad, because you left.I’m mad, at myself, for not getting to talk, to you yet
I wanted, to stroll back, down, memory lane,
About the experiences, we had, without you, they’ll never be same
The days and nights, in your yellow car, we joked, and called it “The Banana”
Drove us, all around town, hangin up posters, with a staple gun hamma
Watchin out, for police, was all part, of the fun
While the radio played, anything, from Lakeside, to, Con Funk Shun
The days and nights, at different malls, from Hawthorne, Carson to Fox Hills
Passing out flyers; and I must admit, talking to the girls, was the real thrill
And then, the anticipation, of the beginning, of the dance
Shot adrenalin, thought my body, I wish I could get, another chance
We get to Alpine. LOOK! The line’s, an hour wait
Your excellence, was on the hook; and our fans took the bait
We reeled them in, took their money, and put a stamp, on their hands
They wished, for a good time; and that wish, was our command.
We gave them, what they wanted, nights with music, hard and smooth.
From “Shake Your Pants”, and the twins, “4th of July” and, “Labor Day Groove”.
You went on, to do greater thangs, I’m sorry, for leaving your side
Now, that I’ve admitted that, I’m no longer mad, cause you died.
