"Thinking About You"
I’ve been thinking about you, for a little while.
I need life’s clock, so I can turn back the dial.
I will never forget, your tender touch.
I miss you dearly, and still love you so much.
Should we have known better, than to start what we couldn’t finish?
Or did we just figure, our feelings would diminish?
No one will ever fill that empty hole in my heart.
If I ever find a genie, I’d wish we’d never, had to part.
Though I may not be able, to have you back in my life,
Doesn’t erase the fact, that I wish you were my wife.
I would never want your present life, to have any flaws.
But given the chance, I would clamp on tighter, than any pit bull’s jaws.
Where I’m going with this? I don’t know; but since you asked.
Maybe I refuse, to give up on the past.
So if you give me an inch, I’m taking more than a mile.
Like I said, “I’ve been thinking about you, for a little while.”
