This Demon
I make faces in the mirror,
To try and mask this demon,
The demon that lives deep inside me,
Trying it’s best to break free.
Every word that leaves my lips,
Is a lie, sugar coated with wishful thinking,
All designed to lure you in,
To make you feel safe in your skin.
When the moment is right,
You will be mine for the taking,
And all of these feelings inside,
Will no longer have to hide.
All of this hatred I hold,
Will be taken out on you,
When my words lacerate your skin,
You will feel my vengeance within.
