Charades
Through these eyes I see,The ugly thing that I know is me,
These truths cover my face,
To remind you of that place.
Out of all of the lies that I told,
And all of these memories that I hold,
The ones that I love most,
Is those moments I held you close.
When your head lay at my heart,
And I thought nothing could tear us apart,
Your hand was mine to hold,
Or so I was told.
I was to blind to see,
That you never loved me,
How could I be a fool,
To think that you aren't that cruel?
To my dismay,
These strings are best left to fray,
Because love is a heavy burden to bear,
Oh why isn't life fair?
Manipulation is your best asset,
With your smoothing voice, you tell me not fret,
And that everything will be fine,
All in due time.
I start to see through your lies,
And tears form as I begin to cry,
But then I go into metamorphosis,
I can no longer take this,
Your little game of charades,
My love for you is starting to fade.
