The Troll (part 1)
The bed began to shudder
There was a horrendous growl from beneath
The house began to tremble and shake
A high pitched keening ensued
While pictures tumbled from their perches along the walls
And vases shattered spilling their fragrant contents.
I continued to hear the low growling
Amidst the rumbling of the house
Which quickly elevated along the decibel scale
Until it became a deep guttural roar.
With the genesis of this terrible noise
The bed exploded
And spewed it shrapnel throughout the room
Shards of which impaled the ceiling, the walls, and the floor.
In the midst of the destruction
I saw my nightmare manifest before me…
