Death's Kiss
A feeling of ruin and desolation
Washed over me, drowning me
As the inhospitable sky let loose its fury
Arcane power permeated throughout
Goosebumps danced along my flesh
As bloody rain poured down
Dreams shattered, Love vanished
And the gates to Hell opened for me
As I surrendered my heart
A swirling blue mist poured forth
From the shadowy void
As the destruction ensued
Flames licked my face
And thin caliginous wisps of smoke
Gripped my lungs like miniature ghosts
Winds began stirring the embers
Into a wickedly wild dance
As Death’s obsidian wings fluttered before me
The figure before me advanced
Emanating loss and rage so strongly
That I pleaded for a quick demise
His tongue stained my thoughts
Flowing like a river stained red
With words both tender and vile
His hollow eyes bore through me
Bleeding with crimson lust
And I bathed in the downfall
Here in the darkness
He whispered his final plea
“Your hand in mine”
“Your soul but for a kiss”
And I, alone and unloved
Accepted Death’s kiss.
