Obsidian Butterfly
Shrouded in mystery
The obsidian butterfly
Perched upon my shoulder
Her somber colored wings
Fluttered against my cheek
Drinking in my tears
And swallowing my pain
She kissed my brow with invisible lips
Then hovered just out of reach
Allowing me to catch sight of my reflection
Framed within her drowning black eyes
Horrified by the sight
And the feeling of detached lonliness
I begged her not leave me
She flew into my embrace
I heard her whisper to my soul
And she carried me
Till my forever ended
