My Redemption
I feel my faith backsliding into the cracks of nightfall
These eyes shadowed by an evil entity that tries to crawl
Into my comfort zone to close in on me with his attack
My heart is the prime target that’s struggling to fight back
I’m bloodstained thick with sin as I feel my legs collapse
I can’t run anymore so I hide in fear of what might perhaps
Be the end of everything I know and dreamed of receiving
This is not the time when we need to give up on believing
Know that nothing is impossible when God is on our side
Life spins us around like a whirlwind so problems will collide
Its so easy to forget about His grace when things get bad
But He loves us unconditionally and wants to be our dad
Its useless to fight with God when He is our source of hope
The path we take in life can leave us hanging on a rope
So turn your eyes toward God’s precious love that’s real
Your strength inside me allows me to know what I feel
Like peace and joy that shelters me from my surrounding
As trickery from the devil stirs trouble that is sounding
So I fear each footstep I take closer to this unopened door
I’m risking too much if I abandon my faith that can restore
I need to know Your watching me closely each step I walk
Whisper words of comfort into my ear as you humbly talk
For you are my only hope when this world lets me down
If I fail to follow Your holy ways then I will surely drown
I need Your lifeboat to help me stay afloat when out at sea
These strong waves force me underwater but I’ll find safety
For Your hands carry my burdened limbs to a dwelling place
Where I can find rest and thank you for Your saving grace
I desire to dance with angels in heaven where I will roam
When death brings me to this new place I can call my home
But as long as my vessel keeps on sailing in the mighty wind
I will continue to praise You for being my perfect friend
