Lord, please give me rest from this world of broken dreams

Help me see that something’s are not always what they seem

I never imagined such torture could live here in this place

I was afraid of living because I was much too scared to face

The consequences for my actions that I let myself commit

The world wants to bleed me dry as I accept that I don’t fit

I don’t want to camouflage myself by blending in with the crowd

So many people out there sound the same and act there life out loud

There’s so much more to faith than believing what can come true

A deep, powerful meaning that enriches the soul to pull us through

The promise to trust in and truly commit yourself to stay unbroken

A gift from God that ignites like gasoline when the truth is spoken

Holy One, please bring me closer to you because I want to feel secure

You’re the fire in my serene eyes so wash me clean and make me pure

Speak to my dry and cracked soul so I will feel alive and awake again

How I beg and thirst for more of You as I keep fighting thoughts within

Give me the strength to keep on moving and never see the color black

For the light is dim as the Devil strikes and hits me when I turn my back

Renew my breathe that’s giving out for I’m losing the strength to stand

I’m facing this cold, painful world where so many don’t understand

Why this soul of ours has to constantly be exposed to hate and disease

It’s an open wound for infection but I will falter onto my shaking knees

Giving You thanks and praise for always being right there by my side

I can no longer contain all these feelings that I often seem to try and hide

Your the only One who can restore my faith when I am feeling weak

How can I continue to keep ignoring these feeling that I keep and seek

It’s a habit that we inherit and it makes us build up this wall of defense

If we don’t push to reach our full potential then we won’t ever commence

To see what were truly capable of since we always seem to limit our drive

A self-propelled energy that emits passion which lights us up to feel alive

We tolerant and accept this standstill progress without any movement made

Can we dig deeper to unbury this fire that quenches our hearts that slowly fade

Into the darkness as we spiral backwards down this pathway to hopelessness

Nothing comes out of this empty, cold feeling that will soon come to dismiss

A closeness that sparks an electric reaction that burns me deep to the core

Feelings to strong to disregard that have me running and asking for more

This world is holding me down like gravity and comes ready for blood

Their swords laid out to pierce the ones who resist as their buried in mud

Their remains are left as memories of what they stood for and believed

This battlefield I’m fighting on is a place where hell has been received

As a world filled with rage, sorrow and disgust that screams inside our ears

The pain of empty souls that died for nothing, now bear our mourning tears

Why has my heart become a target in this day and age where sinners breed?

A mass of innocent lives will die each day that solemnly want and need

The power of salvation to uproot the evils that have been implanted

But by the hands of God my life has found peace and joy He has granted

So with this dying prayer I whisper into the wind that carries my voice

I lift my eyes to the heavens above and cry help me make the right choice

A worthy decision to devote my time and effort to see salvation flow

Like a rippling stream that spreads for miles and never moves real slow

So all creation can gather around this pool and drink the life it gives to all

Much like our Father whose waters come alive to heal those who fall

At the footsteps of his great lead and who follow after His command

I walk upon this dying earth today in search of this promised land

A home where none go thirsty and a place where no one gets lost

This shelter that protects me from the storms that have come to cost

The lives of so many helpless souls who never even got the chance

To understand the meaning of life and experience a God romance

So when you go to sleep tonight think about all those who have died

The dawn of tomorrow will come so let God be the one to decide

The end of life will approach us one day so be sure your ready to die

Give everything up to the Creator of life for He will look you in the eye

And say to you what have you done for me and my kingdom on earth

You will have to answer to His judgment that holds such great worth

And as you bear this trial you will come to know your fate at hand

A death sentence in hell is the price you will pay if you fail to understand

The sacrifice He made for us when He shed His blood to wash us clean

Never has there been a greater love than this gift which I have seen

Through the hearts and eyes of millions who gave their lives for One

Because they believed in a greater world beyond where we’ll meet the Son

A glorious sight no living human has ever visualized or could picture

A place described to us only through words that rest in the pages of scripture

So beautiful and inspiring to all these seeking hearts that burn to know

These finals words I whisper into your ear, please let Jesus be alive to show!

You the future that you could hold if you would give him your heart today

As I place in your hands these last six words, Be ready when its your day!
