Fields of Jasmine
Fields of Jasmine
In fields of jasmine, the sun did shine, as I was his and he was mine.
Transfixed in other worlds we climb, still, I am my lover's and he is mine.
In grasses deep, beneath bended tree, I belong to my lover and he to me.
Beside a stream, upon a hill, I am belonging to him, still.
Love so deeply there did swell and only thoughts of him did quell.
In sight of billowy clouds above, I find as well my lover’s love.
What place can anyone find, where my love is not his and his love is not mine?
No place is safety that I abide, except within my lover’s mind.
Now gaze upon a rumbling sea, again my lover, he would be.
In thoughts and subjects beyond time, still there each other we would find.
To the ends of infinity and back to thee, my love, is always within me.
No thing or substance can unbind, embrace my lover and entwine.
At one we are with all that is, forever more, He’s mine, I’m his.
