Pirate Love
Hearts soared and sank,
concurrently.
Joy and anguish exploding,
spilling over.
Hate and adoration
of your embrace
spins me torn,
as a lush rose
that shatters skin
with its bitter thorn.
Withdrawing,
leaving your promise,
for me to return.
Resisting your allure
for a moment,
against torment,
knowing we’ll burn.
Quenching our desire
in everlasting fire.
Consuming our will,
Imperfect, until we are one.
No matter the cost,
what is gained or lost.
Foretold, predicted,
feared and rejected,
a fated longing that
could not be accepted,
or escaped….
