A Little Part of Us
A Little Part of Us died today.
Our Miss Velvet Kitty passed away.
Our special little friend, that made a home
with us from our beginning until her life end.
She came to us a wisp of a kitty,
with shining eyes and a purr so pretty.
She had no whiskers and a thin frame,
she cuddled and nurtured and earned her name.
That little part she made with us
will never be the same.
Inside we long to hold her close and feel her beating heart,
that little part she gave to us, right from the very start.
As Autumn leaves fall and blow in the wind,
our loss can never be whole again.
So many memories she shared, for her departure,
we could not prepare.
Now our home is quiet and still,
the space Miss Kitty always filled.
We know in our hearts if she could have stayed,
she wouldn't have had it any other way.
Now onto a heavenly place she'll go.
leaving us sad and full of woe.
Her beautiful spirit will always be,
with us for eternity.
