I Don't Care Anymore
I don't care anymore about the news of the day.
The scandal that broke, what the pundits say.
How they lied about history, what was re-wrote.
About stupid politicians and the lousy, fake vote.
About what expectations they think they met.
The bold, fancy maneuvers, their deceit has beget.
How they rule with ambiguous luminosity.
They strike out against far-reaching credibility.
As they turn and they fit to find new ways to get.
They destroy sovereignty and defend as legit.
Truly victorious in their plan, they will never be.
Surrendered their souls and they'll never be free.
I don't care anymore about my bank account.
What is or isn't, how much the amount.
Meaningless nothing that continues to float,
on dishonest, proud, bigots imaginary boats.
Money is paper blowing in the wind.
Light it up, watch it burn, ashes sent.
Behind the facade, the illusion of life,
the job, the kids, the house and the wife.
Lies the self and the self already knows,
that none of this matters, as the universe goes.
What's left are memories, etched upon the soul's mind,
like a rolodex open to view for all time.
What matters- a child's smile, embrace,
simple things, warm sun on the face.
Laughing, crying and living-
Not the God-forsaken rat race.
Why can we not wake up to simpler truths,
realize awesome beauty- awareness that soothes.
For the soul needs nothing, but to Be and to Love.
No treasures compare here, below or above.
