Too Late
I saw him everyday outside
the quiet boy, always writing
He amazed me though we never spoke
His worn-in converse and messy hair
I see him glance at me but quickly turn away.
He was a mystery. His eyes burn with wonder.
All I wanted was him to talk to me,
to smile at me with all his love
and to script his name on my heart.
So we will have a bond forever.
He died yesterday. I never got to say “I love you”
I saw her everyday outside
the beautiful girl, twirling her hair around her finder.
She amazed me, even though I never got the nerve to talk to her.
Her beat up converse and battered novels
I see her glance at me and smile faintly.
She was a mystery. Her eyes burn with wonder.
All I wanted was to love her
to show her all my love,
and to write my confession on her heart,
so we could love forever.
She died yesterday. I never had the chance to tell her how I feel.
