Not a Magic Ending
Through the day,
As I lay,
I silently think of you,
Because everything I think of you I realize what is true.
Pain comes pounding through my head,
I wish life were a fairytale like in the books i've read.
But who am I to wish for something that will never be real,
this life I dream of will only be something I can feel.
This won't be a magic ending.
I'm just a girl who's heart needs mending.
I'll have no castle to give me cover,
nor do I have a magical fairy godmother.
I'm not awakened by a single kiss,
or have a prince I can desperately miss.
I'm not flying to a new land,
or holding pixie dust in the palm of my hand.
I'm not part of that world.
You're just a boy and i'm just a girl.
Saying we 'lived happily ever after' would be a lie,
I silently wait for you to say goodbye.
