Mourning an Angel
An angel has gone up to heaven
She wasn't ready to go but a devil took her life that night.
She was so alive but then the next second she was gone
The clouds opened up and welcomed the angel back to heaven
In those quick five minutes Karen went from having a perfect life,
Two perfect daughters, a perfect husband, a perfect family
To meeting Jesus.
No one knew that two days after Valentine's Day we would be
Mourning an angel.
A statue sits beneath a tree, a statue of an angel
Her name is written on its polished rock
We look at the face of the angel and see her face
Words don't express what we feel but we do the best we can,
“Karen, this mourning will never end,
Everyday we sit down
Mourning an angel.”
