    Goal Post Prayer

     we all gathered around the goal post
    all on bent knees
    all of us brothers
    with one goal
    anyone could plainly see

    butterflies in my stomach
    the crowd is all here
    bands are playin
    to each teams cheer

    we thought it was about winning
    being number one
    we forgot about why we played
    and
    that it was for fun

    I gazed at those gathered
    around the goal post for prayer
    they are my brothers
    and
    I still care

    when I see some of them
    I know, that God heard those prayers
    said humbley around the goal post
    all those many years

    you see
    we all winner's
    we found victory in the son

    the goal post prayers
    where each of our lives were changed
    and some
    just begun
