     Mistakes,whew
    I sure made a few
    but all I wanna do
    is smell that sweet
    mountain dew

    I,m gettin closer to home

    Hair risin on my kneck
    everything in check

    I can see that mountain
    in the distance
    all it took was
    a little assistance
    and
    a whole lot of persistance

    the dream almost
    drove me outta my mind

    Hear that wild
    Mountain river

    knew the good lord
    would deliver

    Restin in His hands
    travelin across these lands

    gettin closer to home

    Can see the sun risin
    over the mountain peak
    the solitude of the mountain
    is all I seek

    Closer to home

    Aspen leaves quaking in the wind
    just around the next bend
