Apparently Apartment
Sunrise behind jagged skyline
It’s Terran decadence, it’s Holy Roman decline
And it's home
Carved in concrete and chrome
That’s the universe and that right there, that’s me
Laying on the couch and watching TV
3rd floor, to the left, behind the door
I’m waiting for rain, I’m waiting for war
What to wear, what on earth to eat
The robot wakes early and sweeps the street
An animatronic smile and built-in hope
I wonder who programmed his ability to cope
I’d like to try out real life someday
Let’s go to the movies and fly away
Have a drink or two and let rock and roll
Take its toll
These are the days and they’ll come for awhile
It looks like a party and feels like a trial
Out of all women, you'll be my wife
This might just be my only life
They say a thousand different storms are coming
I deny myself asleep and leave the taps running
A picture of a loved one on my shelf
Go fuck yourself
It’s all pretty damn grey it seems to seem
Somewhere someone gets lost in a scream
And that was that
Queue the crossing cat
God is dead and I’m growing old
The sun is red and the night is cold
On my own
Into the unknown
The world takes shape and it ain’t too pretty
Nostalgic as hell in a space age city
This view will do
It’ll have to
