A Throwaway Future
We’ve done it again
It’s FUBAR I judge
Tomorrow coming atcha
It’s all way too much
Defensively not giving a shit
But god knows I want to do good
To talk you out of whatever stupid plan
And vindicate the terrestrial neighborhood
But boredom, stress and psychosomatics
Has got me locked up in an in-between
And love, I just can’t help it
Moth-Er-Fuck being Se-Ven-Teen!
And I really don’t feel like showing up
But I might just do it for you
I’m a slacker in the making, I’m a diamond staying rough
The life of a loser could do
And you know I’m not one for disturbing the peace
But to these orders I just can’t comply
‘Cause I’m feeling all the guilt at the end of the day
The world’s just a giant sigh
The architects of utopia
Never had the chance to grow up
Brace for self-fulfilling prophecy
And a violent full stop
I keep dreaming ‘bout, you know, dropping out
Too busy survivin’ to ever look back
‘Cause quite frankly baby, I’m quite fed up
With always calling the kettle black
We figure with faulty algorithms
And reverse-engineer the omniverse
Preserve the sacrosanct status quo
I’ll tell you; it’s quite the curse
And I really don’t feel like showing up
But I might just do it for you
I’m a slacker in the making, I’m a diamond staying rough
The life of a loser will do
And you know I’m not one for disturbing the peace
But to these orders I just can’t comply
‘Cause I’m feeling all the guilt at the end of the day
The world’s just a giant sigh
Truth be told I’m rather terrified
That there appears to be no master plan
Live a day and down a drink, why don’t I
The weather’s great in the frying pan
Chasing tail and immortality
All the while hell freezes
We all come here in search of peace
And we leave in despondent pieces
I don’t sleep too well and it’s starting to show
Fighting decline with champagne and shampoo
Now I’m going back to cracking lame jokes
And we can have cynicism for two
