Abyss Bar
Drinking bitter beer in an abyss bar
Rugged faces lit by a dying star
Admiring suiciders from afar
If it weren’t so common I’d label it bizarre
The cogwheels have spun out of control
Powering our vibrators with the very last coal
Cynics governed by teargas and crowd control
Seeking escape and entertainment in a bullet hole
Pinning our pain on the illusive queen bee
Prophets and prodigies drown themselves in LSD
We look for love in an uncaring sea
Subscribing to the cult of melancholy
We willfully wear fashionable blinders and dance to their defect flute
We soil all seven seas and save only the animals we deem cute
We return to nature to piss, pillage and pollute
We throw our waste and worries down the garbage chute
Fucking the wrong people and shying away from those we love
We can’t deal with truth without our detachment glove
We think little of the world we are at the end of
The acid rain falls hard from above
One of these days I’m going to die
Thus is the truth of the glazed eye
The neon is fading and I let out a sigh
Bottoms up and a protracted goodbye
