time?
there were tears, and time turned slowly- though
the only one who noticed walked away.
left alone, the moments languished.
left to fate, the old ones vanished.
left to write the holy word,
one l e t t e r
at a time.
time- a curious word.
time.
worth all your wasted opportunities.
all forgotten lovers live somewhere in time-
longing to be remembered.
the places change and
faces age,
and
we remain the same.
conflict of gods.
the waters turn and tumble
into waves that mumble names
of shipwrecked men
against the face of rocks
that change, eventually-
but too slowly for anyone to notice.
the earth dies.
the world we wash and ruin
with our wants,
is buried each day
by our songs.
the only one who noticed walked away.
left alone, the moments languished.
left to fate, the old ones vanished.
left to write the holy word,
one l e t t e r
at a time.
time- a curious word.
time.
worth all your wasted opportunities.
all forgotten lovers live somewhere in time-
longing to be remembered.
the places change and
faces age,
and
we remain the same.
conflict of gods.
the waters turn and tumble
into waves that mumble names
of shipwrecked men
against the face of rocks
that change, eventually-
but too slowly for anyone to notice.
the earth dies.
the world we wash and ruin
with our wants,
is buried each day
by our songs.
