the forgiveness of skin
there are beautiful
burns she keeps
hidden from the
world-
there are scars
we carve into
our eyes,
nights when we're lonely-
holding our breath
and our arms open
breathing into her,
burning her.
learning what hurts.
there are beautiful
burns she keeps
hidden from every
one but me-
and she asks, "do you love me?"
but I know that I don't,
and reply,"i like how you feel."
in her skin I find forgiveness
for all of my sins,
but I am blinded by scars
she carves into my eyes.
