    a finger,

    trapped in two of these ( ).

    wondering.

    'do thoughts sound
    the same when spoken?'

    'are jokes written or
    do they unravel in the
    moment?'

    phrases trip like
    figureskating bricks
    on icy lips.

    it's all subtext,

    wrapped in parenthesis.
