    notes

    1.
The child I once was(whose eyes are now mine)
    tonight beside me sleeps,
but in the morning when she wakes,
    my child will walk away.

    2.
    beyond the river(past the trees)
there is a gully where the breeze
    concedes, resting
    against the grass-

    anticipating death.

    3.
    This flesh wrapped around blood
    (holding bones)shall return
     to its lonesome home.

    4.
    one man,
    and he walked away.
    three bullets.
    two deaths.

    before the day could draw
    its final breath...
    sunset-

    and he walked away,
    one man.

INTERESTING CONCEPT OF DEATH....IS IT THE ACTUAL DEATH OF A PERSON OR METAPHORICLY THE DEATH OF A LIFESTYLE.....I LIKE THE WAY YOU LET IT BE WHAT IT IS TO EACH READER

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
