This Morning
I woke to sparkled moonlight
In the yard.
The morning moisture,
More mist than rain,
Had settled on each leaf and grass blade
Twinkling
As if new and gem encrusted.
The moon sat high above,
Resting on the peak of the roof,
prepared to slide down
Into his bed of downy white clouds
Waiting on the horizon.
He yawned and stretched
and smiling,
Sank into his soft retreat,
Already dreaming
Starlit skies and moon glow.

In the yard.
The morning moisture,
More mist than rain,
Had settled on each leaf and grass blade
Twinkling
As if new and gem encrusted.
The moon sat high above,
Resting on the peak of the roof,
prepared to slide down
Into his bed of downy white clouds
Waiting on the horizon.
He yawned and stretched
and smiling,
Sank into his soft retreat,
Already dreaming
Starlit skies and moon glow.
