Imaginings
The mind wanders the countryside
Seeking the pixies of our childhood.
The Sun,
Fond of making an entrance,
Filters through the leaves,
Nudging the songbirds,
Coaxing them to sing.
A Unicorn,
Fresh from a romp in the forest,
Kneels daintily as she drinks.
The water is cool and clear
As it rushes downstream
To places as yet unseen.
Bumblebees
play tag on the flower tops,
Bouncing fro and to.
Monarch butterflies
Halo the bushes
As fairies dance ay meadows edge.
All is lush and green.
The light scent of honeysuckle
Is adrift in the air.
Do you remember?
Do you remember these imaginings
From childhood?
*My hope*
Is that all that is imaginary
Are the fairies and Unicorn.
