Pixie Moon
I could not sleep.
The moon slipped quietly,
Unnoticed,
Into my bedroom,
Tickling my nose
And tugging at the covers,
Taking great delight in my discomfort.
She did not cease,
Filling my dreams with too many thoughts.
The stars gathered 'round her
To witness her pleasure.
Try as I might to ignore her,
Dancing from headboard to foot,
Her impish behavior
Kept me at sleeps edge
All night.
I must remember to lock the window.
Tonight
I must keep that Pixie
OUT!
The moon slipped quietly,
Unnoticed,
Into my bedroom,
Tickling my nose
And tugging at the covers,
Taking great delight in my discomfort.
She did not cease,
Filling my dreams with too many thoughts.
The stars gathered 'round her
To witness her pleasure.
Try as I might to ignore her,
Dancing from headboard to foot,
Her impish behavior
Kept me at sleeps edge
All night.
I must remember to lock the window.
Tonight
I must keep that Pixie
OUT!
