Come Close
Come close,
Come close to me.
Hold me close and coax me along.
We can walk
This weathered old path
Together.
The crescent moon
High above
Shines her approval.
Hold my hand,
If I should stumble,
For the path is rough
And I am shoeless.
Take me up in your arms,
Make my face blush.
Wrap yourself around me as swaddling
And whisper honeysuckle
In my ear.
I am breathless,
My heart pounding out Morse code.
Let your lips melt on mine,
Butterscotch on my tongue.
Sing me a love song,
Play me a new tune,
Pour us a tall one.
This could last all night.
