Paper Walls
paper walls
were meant to fall
and take the love
inside us all
the force of our regret
and the stain of our rage
unable to admit
this was no act of courage
a path already written
in your eyes i saw us crying
and in my heart
i couldnt stop lying
to you and to us
to the memory of what was
i fell in the trap
of holding on too long
to something that was
never meant to be strong
behind paper walls
where every breath is a shout
when someone calls
its never about
what we feel
what we see
the average exotic
in a sea of mediocrity
burning the leaves
we have nothing but dry desire
the wetness of our lust
was our only fire
quenched enough
to kill us dead
paper walls of life
i guess we just cant win
were meant to fall
and take the love
inside us all
the force of our regret
and the stain of our rage
unable to admit
this was no act of courage
a path already written
in your eyes i saw us crying
and in my heart
i couldnt stop lying
to you and to us
to the memory of what was
i fell in the trap
of holding on too long
to something that was
never meant to be strong
behind paper walls
where every breath is a shout
when someone calls
its never about
what we feel
what we see
the average exotic
in a sea of mediocrity
burning the leaves
we have nothing but dry desire
the wetness of our lust
was our only fire
quenched enough
to kill us dead
paper walls of life
i guess we just cant win
