Ode to Holy Mountain
Whisper, breath, and grimace foul
darkness heark
the herald angels bring soft light
and starkness
rally round the maypole flag
the faggots on fire
burning spears
shafts of years
yard upon yard of fluff and regard
respect the waking bags of flesh
their eyes sadly placed
hair loose and unkempt
climbing from semen into satchels and purses
enclosed by walls of carpeted curtains
distance unleashes us from pain
and we die in concrete beneath acid rain
jokers smiling, pandemic liars
reach and roll. romantic shivers
she and he, are and our
the mystery of life and the need for power
put arms around dying personalities
leech something from gas and tumors
sinking like the titanic
quenching of fires in fountains
the foot soldier pads to tall yonder mountains
surrounds himself with people and places
collecting figurines and miserable faces
inside his kingdom, inside her squalid home
her messy drawings of dinners and spoons
his internal world of hatred and whores
they sit across from love and loss
amidst the dying of beauty
a coral ocean of squid like ink
and the fanciful muses of retired mystique
bequeath to earth a vial of vile bile
furnace fires smelt rubber tires
paper waste and dead vegetation
peek and seek, new recreation
drugs and blood and synthetic procreation
cant mask the face of this classless generation
cant live without, cant breath or shout
over our heads
the planes race the trains
the towns waste
beneath the shadows of cities
all the youth
are bruised blue black and white
without the color or the hue
temples of devastation
each word spoken
a memory is taken
