Dual We You or Me...
I can write you for nothing
you won't hear me anyway
you might read what i say
our words are twisted
and get in the way
if only we could express
through the press of flesh
our innermost desires
and our selfish requests
if somehow I could crawl
inside of you
your emotions become mine
and I use them to wound
others around me
sing to my tune
buried deep inside
like rebar in cement
hasty and quick
to cut and neglect
if only our words
were doors and not windows
to rooms inside our heads
so large and cluttered
infinitely chaotic
yet battened and shuttered
hurricanes cannot move us
but the trickle of time will
the inexorable process
of finding worthwhile
in the dead space to fill
wear you like a drape for my skeleton
take everything that you are
a mish mash of medicine
that will take us too far
it will never be you say to me
from across divides of our own design
mutual disgust and shared misery
better to have never
than to ever have tried
