One Escape
left with pieces
pillows and leases
bedrooms I cant sleep in
couches that i live on
broken phones
and broken homes
all the leftover memories
that collect in the bone
the mirrors
and the doors
and the living, warping floors
talking to me silently
ringing in my skull
passing thought
to end it all
move away from these
cashed dreams
this nest of locusts
and inchoate screams
the sun no longer
a spot in the skies
a brilliant darkness
in a world of lies
green lawn
I'm sleeping on
from drinking
and thinking
starlight sinking
this pit in my stomach
burning like coals
heavy and dangerous
in shallow shoals
lighthouse on fire
old man in the sea
wishing myself away
from where you left me
pillows and leases
bedrooms I cant sleep in
couches that i live on
broken phones
and broken homes
all the leftover memories
that collect in the bone
the mirrors
and the doors
and the living, warping floors
talking to me silently
ringing in my skull
passing thought
to end it all
move away from these
cashed dreams
this nest of locusts
and inchoate screams
the sun no longer
a spot in the skies
a brilliant darkness
in a world of lies
green lawn
I'm sleeping on
from drinking
and thinking
starlight sinking
this pit in my stomach
burning like coals
heavy and dangerous
in shallow shoals
lighthouse on fire
old man in the sea
wishing myself away
from where you left me
