Fesival at Native Temple - Parivettai (6)
Parivettai 6
Nearly the time is towards the dawn the sunrise in a
Couple of hours will be the break to the earth and it is
Most important of the function that Guru is coming out
Of the temple through main entrance
He is reaching the Vettaiadi mandapam where the way
Is fully crowded is being controlled by the devotees and
Followers very well. Guru is horse hunter (Parivettai Man)
And he is the hero; devotees believe Shakti and Shiva
Both are in him, there are a few Goats are kept for hunting
As he is handing over the special knife to his fellow activators
Who is playing the knife only once on one of the goat
Which has chopped its head separate?
This is done one after another and the offer and vettai is
Performed in the traditional method – flood is spread
On the ground, goats’ body is paralyzed one cannot see
As it may wound their feelings
Flesh and every part of the goats are used to make food
As desired by the guru – he is in his unusual formation
Of spiritual appearance raising voice and spells out words
To the devotees
He is throwing some eatables and holy things towards
The crowd, spread viboothi parasadam too,
Makes the devotees happy as it reaches their hands
And please their minds in addition
Now, after these performances he is coming to the POO-
Chpparam where the idles of the divines are seen and
He is doing pooja, showing karpooram arathi and all
Then moving inside the temple
Many of the devotees have given pooja things like three
Coconuts, bananas nine, other usual things as desired
And the coconuts will be broken into two parts male and
Female parts and given to the devotees as the offer is accepted
By the temple goddess and it is the end of the Parivettai
And the devotees start cutting goats at their places
As a token of following everything every time every year
Offering to the Prime goddess-god as it is not the end
Which will be continued next year in tradition!
