ASOKA A HUMAN MONARK
ASOKA A HUMAN MONARCH
I was very much lived happily
As prince
A lot of servants a number of
Senate bodies were treating me high
Incomparable monarch, a warrior,
An emperor of my dynasty
Born son of Chandragupta Maurya
An ancient’s greatest ruler in India
I was inhuman and brutal
During early years of my rule
Victory over Ujjain was thrill
And proud pushed me on high spot
I conquered Kalinga after a fierce
Battle
This battle proved to be a turning point
Of my life
The bloodshed made me aware of the futility
Of warfare
I had killed my brother and absconded the throne
Which were all of my inhuman?
I decided to follow Buddha in all respect
To win the heart of people through love and compassion
I started gain the heart of men by law of duty
And dharma, started to spread the wings of Buddha
In other regions too by sending missionaries
And I have given up eating meat and hunting animals
I have buildup a number of Buddhist vihars
I have become a Buddhist totally
I have built hospitals, dug wells and planted trees
And loved all living beings
I have banned killing of birds and slaughtering
Of animals
I have inscribed Buddha’s teachings on rocks
Pillars and caves’ walls
All men are my children, I will work
For the welfare of all
I became Buddhist monk
I am a happy person – ASOKA
Everybody will follow my steps
For peace and love
