Banyan trees and my village
BANYAN TREEE and my villageIt is great pleasure to remember
As I was small child my grandfather guided me
We reached a forest like place out village border
Where two big trees have grown up side by side together
And I saw a small pillar as lamp used to light the same
With threat pooling oil at the hold of its top
One can see a bell that is hanging separate and it can make
Nice voice when anyone wants to raise hands and makes it active
Sound and light both are very much activate
One’s living and wind is the power to aid for
Lighting the lamp
He, my grandfather taught me a lesson how to worship
The goddess namely Shri Kamakshi Amman, family tradition
Fallowing a long years though there is no idle or shrine
By metal or stone, observing at the banyan trees
One can feel thick shadow around
Hanging ropes like the tree’s root here and there
One can hold and swing like Julia
A couple of parrots are seen at the branch of tree
In between leaves, due to colour of the leaves and the bird
Is the same and the fruits of the tree is red as of the peak
Of the bird both are merged together
The trees are grown up a long period taken a note
Of the villagers and the name of the village is called as
Eral – in Tamil version the banyan tree two numbers
And as they are at the eater side it is name as kila Eral
Everybody has the honor on this village and the banyan tree
A land mark and goddess is very much fulfilling the requests
Of them people of any tradition of nadar community
A small temple is seen built by the nadar communality
Kruppanadar, Poosari iyya vagaiara, Kathavanadar and marladi others
For Shri Kamakshi Amman with great efforts and a big secret at the
Background, as there is no statue or shrine, instead one kuthu vilakku
Is lighted in yellow flame with thread and oil, which is honored and being worshipped rites and regulations
Thereby the two banyan trees are followed with the name of the village
And the temple is named for Shri Kamakshi Amman, very rare of its kind
