Recital
It grows like ivy
in its spring rite,
drawn to the sky.
Climbing oval dish wide leaves
of emerald green reach mid-tree height.
The delicate tea saucer
innocently pure
white Moon flowers
open only at night.
Fascinated
by the vision and amazed
by what she can see
the polite moon turns its gaze
to her flowers under her orbital light.
The petals incline to liberate
a fragrant nectar to incite,
the smooth
irridescent Luna moth
to invite
from its nocturnal flight.
Gilded by the moon,
ardently and with a tenderness that grows
floats a silver kite,
the Luna moth lights the shadows,
a neon green that soon
reflects and glows
as they unite.
A trio that illuminates
and excites
the ballad they choose to ignite
and allow their perfumed play to recite.
