Away
What can I say
when the heavens dare
to leave a scar
this springtime eve
when they perceive,
that I looked away.
They make me pay
as their falling star
is tossed away
without a care.
Black saddle hung,
home flag displayed.
A drum roll fraught,
drawn and slow sung,
in the dirge parade
of what the star has taught.
The lost star's end,
it's pearl dust glory,
salves my discord,
seems to unhinge
and then record
this night too long,
too solemn and
so wrong
so I pray to spend
this misery,
to say I'm sorry,
that I want revenge.
The clock winds down,
the chains not heard,
in it's green and brown,
without a word,
as if to say
it knows my mind has gone astray.
when the heavens dare
to leave a scar
this springtime eve
when they perceive,
that I looked away.
They make me pay
as their falling star
is tossed away
without a care.
Black saddle hung,
home flag displayed.
A drum roll fraught,
drawn and slow sung,
in the dirge parade
of what the star has taught.
The lost star's end,
it's pearl dust glory,
salves my discord,
seems to unhinge
and then record
this night too long,
too solemn and
so wrong
so I pray to spend
this misery,
to say I'm sorry,
that I want revenge.
The clock winds down,
the chains not heard,
in it's green and brown,
without a word,
as if to say
it knows my mind has gone astray.
