Military Babies
After months and months overseas,
the soldiers come home to their families.
They had not forgotten how much they missed,
wives and sweethearts they longed to kiss.
With arms extended they finally touch,
embracing so tightly, it's all too much.
The tears begin to flow and flow,
while making promises to never let go.
Their hearts begin to beat as one,
as their lips touch under the sun.
Knowing they have, only thirty days leave,
to catch up on love they so earnestly need.
With not a moment to waste, they head for home,
smiling all the way, hand in hand and arm in arm,
they hold each other through the night.
Finally making love the way they had dreamed of,
on all those lonely nights.
Nine Months Later... ... ...
Back at the base, the doctors race
back and forth to the maternity ward.
Delivering babies, sometimes in two's,
trying to keep up with whose is whose.
As our soldiers are getting ready to depart
they have another love in their hearts.
While they say good- bye to family and friends,
not knowing when they will see them again.
They leave with a new feeling of pride and joy,
for each new little baby girl and boy.
One more reason to do their jobs well,
keeping our country safe, so all is well.
