A Cold Winters Night
Cold winds howlinginto the night
children awaken
filled with fright
Eyes big as sausers
suddenly appear
Mommy wake up
we're really scared
Next to my bed
little voices I hear
can we sleep with you
Please mommy dear
We promise to be good
won't keep you awake
be as quiet as a mouse
eating his cake
Can you read us a story
til we fall asleep
sister and I
dare not make a peep
We can snuggle and snooze
this cold winters night
keep each other warm
until mornings light
Off come the slippers
they hop into bed
a smile on my face
simply nodding my head
