Last Moonlight Walk
My hand in yoursYours in mine
We walked for what
Seemed a very long time
We gazed at the stars
A gentle wind blew
Looked into each other’s eyes
As lovers do
We made promises
For the moment
Both knew to be true
They always got broken
Like most promises do
I knew without a doubt
Nothing more we could do
We had said all there was to say
It was just a matter of time
Our relationship was through
With tears in our eyes
We kissed, once more
Trying not to say goodbye
Made both of us cry
We gazed at the stars
A gentle wind blew
Looked into each other’s eyes
As most lovers do
We turned and began
The long journey back
Nothing but silence
Wind against our backs
Two hearts tied into knots
This was our last moonlight walk
