    Your words so eloquently spoken
    Laced inconspicously with malice
    Still I proceeded
    Knowing what would become of me

    Your kiss was poison
    Your lips seeped with venom
    Still I proceeded
    Knowing what the outcome would be

    The warmth as we entwined
    The taste of hot flesh
    Still I proceeded
    Knowing you would leave

    I lay in the cold aftermath of your love
    A single arm splayed across where you had lain
    Still I proceed
    Knowing that all things are not what they seem
