Inside Looking Out

The grass seemed so much greener
The air crisper to take in
The sky a much more vibrant blue
On the inside of those seemingly impenetrable walls

Standing from the outside looking in
One could only imagine the true beauty inside held

Stained glass cast rainbows across the lawn
As tall iron gates sheltered the estate from harm
I knew in my heart I desperately wanted in

At last my wish came true
I found myself inside those walls

However

In too short of a time rainbows fade into shadow
Tall iron gates close in around shutting out the light
Encompasing me in those walls
