Idle Thoughts
Sitting here i wonder, I ponder the meaning,
As the sun shines brightly upon this place,
I soon realize this thought takes a turn,
Like a plot it has designs on my peace,
Slowly I notice a few gray clouds head my way,
The thoughts twist and turn, Roll over in my brain,
Clouds now block the sun, Dark and sinister,
Still I am deep in thought trying to explain,
A wind creeps upon my hill, Runs through my hair,
Tries to mess with my mind, Try as it might to no avail,
My course is set my thoughts are firm as is my belief,
As I feel the first drops of rain upon my face, I look upward,
I see the turmoil, The confusion in the darkness,
The rain comes down hard as the wind yells in my ears,
The very ground on which i sit once dry is now drenched,
A loud clap of thunder followed by a bolt of lightning,
So close I swear i could touch, another explosion,
Again and again as if to knock me off my hill,
Then darkness....................
Walking along the shore, white sand between my toes,
Sun shining bright, bringing me back to life,
My thoughts at peace, my cares to the breeze,
I survived the storm to find my peace,
The turmoil and torment has faded away,
Like the last wisp of a faraway cloud,
That too is beyond my vision,
For i see what is now, far wiser then I was before....
