COBWEBS
I look around, My house, My life,I see boxes, Paper and books,
Piles of memories, Childhood toys,
Things in life I can't let go,
They sit here and there,
Cobwebs and dust they collect,
Once in awhile I hold one up to the light,
I look at it and remember, Then set it back ,
To where it belongs in my memory,
My thoughts turn to dreams,
Dreams turn to life, Wishes I wanted,
Hopes I lost, My life covered in cobwebs,
Holding me back, Holding me down,
Yet each day I struggle to break free,
Each day a little at a time I see the light,
Cobwebs snap, Dust falls and settles,
I hold the past where it belongs,
It does not hold me back any longer,
I step into the light, I step back into life.....
