bonfire! :p
Under the star strewn country sky
With a campfire by my side
Pointing out the constellations
No wondering about tomorrow’s destination
I lost track of time
Because time was flying in that open country sky
But my heart is on the ground
Cuddled up and feeling safe and sound
Their voices seem so distant
Why not give the silence a good hard listen
Fire crackles, wood whistles, leaves rustle
And in the cold night air my skin bristles
In the privacy of me and the open air
On that shooting star
I make a wish, I make a dare
Telling stories, gentle reminders of the world I chose
From this place I can’t tell
Is it real or am I dreaming
Dreams always overshoot realism
And I feel the disappointment of dreams far too often
It must be factual
I can feel all this wonder
I can see the splendor of
That star strewn country sky
I find by and by
That the sky is far beyond my dreams
