THE LAST SUMMER NIGHT
Stillness is so Sweet in September’s uniqueness
As wind is non existent, Billowing
Sounds amplified through the air
Cars honking, kids’ playin ‘ in the dark
Aromas of Apples and Sunflowers
Meet my nostrils in returning recognition
Light is shortened via night-time shadows
Where has time gone is a saying of familiarity
Reminding us that the summer is in decline
As Fall descends its curtain on summer’s time
But at this time, I relish on accomplishments
Like playing ball and going swimming
Barbecuing Cook-outs combined beach outings
Attending All White Linen themed summer parties
Chillin’ in my portable lounge chair sipping on something
With friends and strangers attending summer concerts
Or Summer Rain Shower inspired Spades card parties
Racing my daughter to the ice cream truck and
Even chilling by myself reading a good book in sunlight!
Yes another fine summer to be alive, done passed by
Many fine experiences were had in fun I realize
That’s why I’m smiling , thankful with satisfaction on
Reflecting on Summer’s Last Night!
