Forget me if you can,
And move on,
Replace me with something new,
And cover up the old.
Shut the doors to keep me blind,
Snug the locks so I can not get free,
Keep this secret buried and hidden beneath all of your days.
I was just another tool,
Locked in your belt,
Used at your every whim.
But now I am broken,
Rusted,
Bent,
Damaged,
Discarded.
But I am your past.
I am your ghost.
And move on,
Replace me with something new,
And cover up the old.
Shut the doors to keep me blind,
Snug the locks so I can not get free,
Keep this secret buried and hidden beneath all of your days.
I was just another tool,
Locked in your belt,
Used at your every whim.
But now I am broken,
Rusted,
Bent,
Damaged,
Discarded.
But I am your past.
I am your ghost.
