It's been a while,
Since I last heard from you,
But time and again,
You still cross my mind.
I know I shouldn't,
But I wonder,
How you have been,
What you are doing.
Not in desire,
But in the fading of a friend,
I guess you could say,
And a promise long ago.
It's not as easy,
As it used to be,
To write on a whim,
As I once did.
I pause my words,
Steady my fingers,
Collect myself,
Before starting again.
I don't know if,
This poem will be read,
By whom it was intended for,
But I hope all is well.
As I am well,
From day to day,
Carrying on as I always have,
Remembering as I always do.
It's hard to explain,
No reason nor rhyme,
As to what goes through my mind,
When silence befriends me.
I guess this poem is at it's end,
These random thoughts meshed together,
Of everything I can focus on,
A symphony of harmonic catastrophies.
Since I last heard from you,
But time and again,
You still cross my mind.
I know I shouldn't,
But I wonder,
How you have been,
What you are doing.
Not in desire,
But in the fading of a friend,
I guess you could say,
And a promise long ago.
It's not as easy,
As it used to be,
To write on a whim,
As I once did.
I pause my words,
Steady my fingers,
Collect myself,
Before starting again.
I don't know if,
This poem will be read,
By whom it was intended for,
But I hope all is well.
As I am well,
From day to day,
Carrying on as I always have,
Remembering as I always do.
It's hard to explain,
No reason nor rhyme,
As to what goes through my mind,
When silence befriends me.
I guess this poem is at it's end,
These random thoughts meshed together,
Of everything I can focus on,
A symphony of harmonic catastrophies.
