Do not cry for me,
My concrete angel,
For my distance shall not be long.
You look at me with eyes so sad,
The truth that lies within,
Says your heart is not all of stone.
You lose your breath,
Every time we are near,
Yet you stand your ground,
Not willing to move past,
What your heart tells you.
Frozen in place,
Scared of what might be,
You have been hurt,
Too many times.
We play our games,
Reading each others minds,
Never speaking a word,
We sit and look into eachothers eyes.
You are the puzzle,
That I have been waiting for,
The riddle I wish to answer,
The one I want to stay close to.
You push me away,
Not wanting to be hurt,
Yet a tear comes to your eye,
As you turn away,
Your last words,
"One day..."
So do not cry for me,
My concrete angel,
I will be back for you.
My concrete angel,
For my distance shall not be long.
You look at me with eyes so sad,
The truth that lies within,
Says your heart is not all of stone.
You lose your breath,
Every time we are near,
Yet you stand your ground,
Not willing to move past,
What your heart tells you.
Frozen in place,
Scared of what might be,
You have been hurt,
Too many times.
We play our games,
Reading each others minds,
Never speaking a word,
We sit and look into eachothers eyes.
You are the puzzle,
That I have been waiting for,
The riddle I wish to answer,
The one I want to stay close to.
You push me away,
Not wanting to be hurt,
Yet a tear comes to your eye,
As you turn away,
Your last words,
"One day..."
So do not cry for me,
My concrete angel,
I will be back for you.
